Cabin crew training is not all about emergency landings – flight attendants also have to learn lots of people and communication skills.

Masses of internet sites offer cabin crew training, but while completing one of those courses might give you an edge during recruitment, every airline considers training an investment and pay sign ups a wage to pass with flying colours.

All airlines ask expect recruits to have a basic education “4 GCSEs or equivalents is a standard entry duty “and that they can swim.

Any additional languages are worth brushing up and might help push you up the queue for a selected job and bonus pay.

Working as cabin crew is about two things above all else: the comfort and safety of passengers.

Naturally, safety is most important, and if you manage somehow to get one of those coveted positions, coping with emergencies will be the focus of your pre-flight training.

safety and emergency procedures course.

Though tackling an emergency is unlikely, the subjects covered are a harsh reminder of the responsible perspective you need to bring to a cabin crew job.

  • Abandoning an aircraft
  • Landing on water
  • Decompression
  • Fighting fires
  • Passenger management
  • Security
  • Survival and first aid talents.

The remainder of the training is a load less exciting, but vital however.

Much of a flight attendant’s work is about getting along with folks, good manners and enjoying providing a service.

Staying calm and mannered while understanding some of us have a fear of flying or react badly to the stress of sitting with masses of others for hours on end is all a part of the job.
