Although shark attacks come few and far between and you shouldnt be afraid to go shark diving it is worth noting some of the different types of shark attacks that can occur just in case you find yourself in the waters by yourself with a load of sharks swimming around you.
Attacks That Are Provoked
This one is of course coursed by the people touching the sharks. This usually happens when a someone is trying to fish and catches a shark by mistake, the shark then goes to bite when they are trying to remove the hook or net. You can see why the sharks do this kind of thing, they are under threat. Attacks have also happened when divers grab sharks or try to feed them.
Unprovoked Attacks
Hit And Run
Most of these attacks will actually happen very near the shores as it is where sharks hunt. If the currents are strong, the water is murky or in bad weather the sharks may actually mistake a human being for something else like food for example. They will usually make one grab of you, taste that you are not food and then let go and leave. The lower parts of the body are usually the ones that get bitten here.
Sneak Attacks
These types of attacks take place in deep waters where the professional divers are going to be and the diver has no idea the shark is coming. The shark will most likely be desperate for food and a sneak attack is a sure way to take a human out.
Bump And Bite
These happen when the sharks actually start to bump into victims with their heads before they bite. They do this to try and disorientate their prey and this will be done so they can get in for a quick kill.
The main thing to remember if diving in Egypt or Maldives diving is to respect the ocean and to not swim anywhere near where you know dangerous sharks may be lurking. If you like shark diving then just make sure you in a large group.
